The Barack the Youth Vote blog is written by select students from across the country who believe that Senator Barack Obama is the best candidate for the 2008 Presidency. Our goal is to add depth and substance to the Obama movement, and to facilitate discussion concerning his historic run for President.
Specifically, we aim to engage the “youth vote,” which has a history of being apathetic to political campaigns. We believe, however, that as youths come to better understand Obama’s values and priorities, they will realize the importance of his candidacy. In turn they will help out and lend their support to his campaign. And vote!
It is our hope that this blog will engage the youths of this country and inspire them to lend their support to Senator Obama.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Media Contact:
Reuben Torres ; 646-591-3551; Reuben_anthony@yahoo.com
Founder of PUMA Will Bowers , my guest this coming Tuesday on my radio show “Lets Get Real With Reuben Torres “, Mr Bowers will be discussing their opposition to the candidacy of Barack Obama.
Will Bower is spokesperson for P.U.M.A., which stands for “party unity my ass,” an organization he founded and launched on Facebook and that is made up largely of Hillary Clinton supporters. P.U.M.A. is now part of the larger Just Say No Deal coalition of groups that coalesced after Clinton officially suspended her campaign and that are united in their opposition to the candidacy of Barack Obama.
Bower is a contributor to OffTheBus and was an administrator for the main Hillary Clinton Facebook group, “Hillary Clinton for President; One Million Strong.” In February, Bower, who says he is “obsessive-compulsive” about how the “mathematics of election systems reflect democracy,” wrote a brief opinion piece at Newsvine on the “seriously flawed [Democratic Party primary] system, which is just not proportional,” arguing that the superdelegates should right the process by declaring for Clinton .
In the weeks since he founded PUMA and became one of the Just Say No Deal coalition spokespeople, Bower has become an intermittent guest on the major cable news networks, talking on the anger felt by the people he represents and on the coalition’s motivations and plans. Together with a group of roughly 70 P.U.M.A. voters, Bower met last week with Senator John McCain, which he characterized on Fox News as very “reassuring.” OffTheBus spoke with Bower this past week.
“Lets Get Real With Reuben Torres ” is an open forum where topics on politics, immigration, health, education, and other global issues, that affect our country and the world at large, are discussed and debated at local, national, and global levels. “Lets Get Real With Reuben Torres ” airs every Tuesday evening from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

How’s it going?
I am from Chicago originally and am a big Obama supporter. He was a profesor at my school – University of Chicago. My friend is a big McCain supporter. What does this have to do with you?
We started this website, http://www.ecarflags.com as a competition for who can sell the most flags. This may sound like a lie but I can tell you honestly that it is the truth.
I was wondering if you could provide a link on your site that links to
http://www.ecarflags.com/category-s/21.htm
with the title “Obama Car Flags”. In return, I will give you a free Obama car flag of your choice.
I could also give your members or affiliates a promotional code if they order more than 10 flags for 50% off – WHOLE1234.
If you have any questions, feel free to call me on my cell, 504.250.8409.
Thanks,
Peter Ostroske
I love your site!

Obama is the Man!
Dear Webmaster,
I will like to come in contact with Keith Ferguson. Do you know how. I am a danish master student, writing my thesis on Obamas stratigy. I will like to hear Keith view on what he wrote March 5, 2007 on this website.
Now to years after when he look back at the campaign, does hee still see it as deliberative proces?
By Keith Ferguson.
”For Obama, ‘Deliberative Democracy’ Begins with the Constitution:
For those of us who believe Obama is truly best suited to serve as the next President of the United States, we are especially called to understand the importance of the Constitution in this campaign. He has said that its elaborate machinery – its separation of powers and checks and balances and federalist principles and Bill of Rights – are designed to force us into a conversation, a ‘deliberative democracy’ in which all citizens are required to engage in a process of testing their ideas against an external reality, persuading others of their point of view, and building shifting alliances of consent.” We already know that the election of Obama will require persuading others to our own point of view and building alliances of consent with a vast cross-section of good-willed Americans. But in order to begin mobilizing that ‘deliberative democracy’, it is incumbent on us to first reacquaint ourselves with the elaborate machinery of the Constitution (Keith Ferguson: March 5, 2007).
