Democrats and republicans alike have called on Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to resign over the latest Justice Department scandal. Obama has accused Gonzales for ‘subverting justice’ but has not called for his resignation. I actually appreciate Obama’s approach. It shows that he approaches every decision with clinical, not calculated, thought. He wants to know all the facts and details before making a decision. He is not going to call for the resignation of a high-ranking official because it is politically potent or because it might earn points with the democratic base. In the end Gonzales may very well resign and some 2008 candidates might appear to have led the charge. But I want my leader to know all the facts before making a judgment.
